1976 Elton John becomes the first rock star since the Beatles to be immortalized at Madame Tussaud’s Waxworks Museum in London.

1993 The Black Crowes cut short a concert in Louisville, Kentucky, after a member of the rock group’s entourage is beaten and another arrested by narcotics detectives backstage. The police later admitted they found no drugs.
1994 Collective Soul releases their debut album, Hints, Allegations And Things Left Unsaid.

1994 Erin Everly files a lawsuit in Los Angeles against her ex-husband, Guns N’ Roses vocalist W. Axl Rose, claiming he beat her up and threatened her during their brief marriage.

1997 The Howard Stern movie Private Parts opens across the country.

2001 Universal Pictures drops Rob Zombie‘s directorial debut House Of 1000 Corpses from its release schedule, on grounds that the film is too disturbing. It’s nearly two years before Lions Gate Films picks it up.
