1978 The Police are signed by A&M Records.

1980 “Another Brick In The Wall” by Pink Floyd hits Number One on the pop chart.

1994 The Ozzy Osbourne album Blizzard Of Ozz is certified triple platinum.

1995 The R.E.M. album Monster is certified triple platinum.

1997 The U2 album Pop debuts at Number One.

2005 Rob Zombie announces that ex-Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5 will join his touring band.

2008 Foo Fighters are joined onstage by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson and bassist Geddy Lee during the Foos’ performance in Toronto, where they play an impromptu version of the Rush instrumental “YYZ” from the trio’s 1981 album Moving Pictures.

2009 Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin exits the band, leaving founder and frontman Billy Corgan as the only original member of the group.
