2000 Bassist Phil Soussan sues Ozzy Osbourne for unpaid back royalties. Soussan played on Osbourne’s album, The Ultimate Sin, and is credited as a co-writer on the hit, “Shot In The Dark.”

2002 Comedian Bill Cosby tells Access Hollywood that he wants everyone to stop watching The Osbournes reality TV series, calling them a “sad, sad family.”

2003 Iggy Pop is named a Knight In The Arts And Letters by French Culture Minister Jean-Jacques Aillagon in Paris.

2003 U2 performs at the Special Olympics in Dublin, Ireland.

2004 Franz Ferdinand passes the one million mark in worldwide sales of their self-titled debut album.

2005 Metallica and Van Halen are the only two hard rock artists to make the annual Forbes magazine list of the 100 most powerful figures in entertainment. Metallica ranks at Number 23 with earnings of $37.4 million, while Van Halen comes in at Number 61 with $29.6 million.

2005 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell is arrested on a disorderly conduct charge after getting into an argument at Mississippi’s Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport with a security guard.
