1992 Countdown To Extinction by Megadeth enters the album chart at its peak position of Number Two.
1994 Hole takes the stage unannounced at the Lollapalooza stop in Philadelphia, playing two songs and asking for a minute of silence in memory of Kurt Cobain.
1995 Former Cult singer Ian Astbury forms a new band called the Holy Barbarians.
1996 MTV launches another channel, M2.
1996 Rage Against The Machine‘s second album, Evil Empire, is certified platinum.
2000 Papa Roach‘s Infest reaches the platinum mark in sales.
2003 Strays, the first new studio album in 12 years from Jane’s Addiction, debuts at Number Four on the Billboard 200 album chart.
2004 P.O.D. vocalist Sonny Sandoval is named as an investor in Gamecaster, Inc. The company, which produces and promotes video game competitions, also makes Sandoval its music director.
2008 Lollapalooza kicks off its fourth year as a destination festival in Chicago’s Grant Park, with the three-day show featuring performances from Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, Wilco, the Raconteurs and others.
