The future of rock was the topic of discussion at a satellite radio town hall meeting in New York last week. Metallica frontman James Hetfield has not been inspired by heavy music lately, he added, “Where’s the heart? I get mad. Hopefully somebody will be like me and just come up with something, and be the next cool different thing. Someone’s got to get pissed off enough to write something different.”
Lead guitarist Kirk Hammett express interest in a group called Ho99o9 (pronounced “Horror”). He then asked one simple question, “Where’s the new generation of arena bands? Can anyone answer that?”
