1971 John Lennon and Yoko Ono make an unannounced appearance at the Fillmore East in New York, joining Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention onstage.

1992 Revenge by Kiss enters the album chart at its peak position of Number Six.

1992 “Under The Bridge” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers hits Number 2 on the pop singles chart.

1997 Motley Crue releases its Generation Swine album.

2000 Brutal Planet by Alice Cooper is released.

2002 Original Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby dies at age 41.

2002 Metallica plays a secret show at Club Kimo in San Francisco under the name Spun.

2006 U2 frontman Bono, along with fellow musicians/activists Bob Geldof and Youssou N’Dour, meet with George W. Bush to discuss poverty prior to the start of the G8 Summit in Germany.
