On Tuesday, Loud Wire reported rumors that Austin Carlile could be joining Linkin Park and taking Chester Bennington’s place. A few hours later, the former Of Mice & Men vocalist responded.

He tweeted: “Chester is one in a billion. There’s no way myself or anyone else for that matter would ever be able to replace him. Performing “Faint” every night on our European tour together & festivals stateside was one of the most special memories of my career. New project, yes. LP, no.”

Carlile was recently in the hospital for his second spine surgery. He left Of Mice & Men in December of 2016 due to illness but had recently posted about creating music again.
