1971, The Rolling Stones leave England for France to escape taxes.
1982, Metallica made their live debut when they appeared at Radio City in Anaheim, California. Metallica formed in Los Angeles, California, in late 1981 when Danish-born drummer Lars Ulrich placed an advertisement in a Los Angeles newspaper, The Recycler, which read, “Drummer looking for other metal musicians to jam with Tygers of Pan Tang, Diamond Head and Iron Maiden.” Guitarists James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner of Leather Charm answered the advertisement.
1994 Gish, the debut album from the Smashing Pumpkins, is certified gold.
1995 The Goo Goo Dolls release A Boy Named Goo.
2001 Kid Rock and his former manager, Stephen Hutton of Uppercut Management, reach an out-of-court settlement in a suit the manager filed against the rock-rap star in 2000. Terms of the settlement are not disclosed.
2002 Charges of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or significant other against Puddle Of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin are dropped. Scantlin was arrested in Fillmore, California, early on the morning of March 10th on suspicion of injuring his fiancee, Michelle Rubin.
2002, Yoko Ono unveils a bronze statue of John Lennon to complete the official renaming of England’s Liverpool Airport as Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
2005 U2 is inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame by Bruce Springsteen at the 19th annual induction ceremony.
2007 Korn‘s MTV Unplugged live CD debuts at Number Nine on the Billboard 200 album chart, moving 51,000 copies in its first week of release and marking the band’s seventh debut in the Top 10.
