1976 The Song Remains The Same by Led Zeppelin peaks at Number Two on the album chart, where it stays for three weeks.

1987 U2 plays a “Save The Yuppies” concert for 20,000 people at Justine Hermine Plaza in San Francisco, just two weeks after the stock market crashes. Lead singer Bono says, “The business community is a bit short this week. That’s why I’m wearing this hat — we’ll be passing it around later.”
1998 Weezer‘s self-titled debut album is certified triple platinum.
2001 Green Day releases its first “best-of” collection, called International Superhits.
2005 Queens Of The Stone Age are joined onstage by members of Nine Inch Nails during a show at an HMV record store in Toronto, Canada.
2006 The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Queens Of The Stone Age play free shows in New York and Los Angeles as part of the launch for Microsoft’s new Zune digital music player.
2012 Deftones issue their seventh studio album, titled Koi No Yokan.
2012 Soundgarden releases its first album in 16 years, titled King Animal. The disc is the first collection of all-new studio material since 1996’s Down On The Upside and the first fresh recordings by the legendary Seattle grunge act since their 2010 reunion.

2015 ISIS claims responsibility for terror attacks in Paris at three different locations, leaving more than 129 people dead, including an Eagles of Death Metal concert where 89 people are killed.
