1970, “Let It Be” by the Beatles hits Number One on the pop chart, where it stays for two weeks.

1981 Edward Van Halen marries Valerie Bertinelli in Westwood, California.

1994 Kurt Cobain‘s death is officially ruled a suicide by the Seattle coroner’s office.

1994 Nirvana‘s In Utero album is certified double platinum.

2001 Creed loses the Blockbuster Award for Best Rock Group to their arch-enemies, Limp Bizkit.

2002 Kid Rock proposes to actress Pamela Anderson in the desert outside Las Vegas. The former Mrs. Tommy Lee accepts, but the marriage never happens. They finally get married and then divorced four years later.

2003 Marilyn Manson debuts his Grotesk Burlesk in Berlin, Germany. The event is an intimate gathering designed to show the world the concept behind his latest album, The Golden Age Of Grotesque.

2003 Evanescence‘s major label debut, Fallen, is certified gold.

2005 The Eagles Of Death Metal, featuring Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme on drums, perform at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland in what’s called the “World’s Quietest Concert.” The music is sent to portable FM headsets tuned to receive the broadcast.

2005 Unwritten Law dismisses longtime guitarist Rob Brewer, saying in a statement that the decision was triggered by “disputes between Rob and various band members, as well as interaction between Brewer and the fans.”

2006 Buckcherry releases its third album, 15, after a break-up that lasted for four years.

2007 Guns N’ Roses postpones the start of a world tour, slated to begin on April 14th in Japan, reportedly due to an injury sustained by bassist Tommy Stinson.

2007 Chevelle‘s fourth album, Vena Sera, debuts at Number 12 on the Billboard album chart , selling 62,000 copies in its first week of release.
