1991 Skid Row‘s second album, Slave To The Grind, debuts at Number One on the Billboard Top 200.

1995 Pearl Jam announces that guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament, guitarist Mike McCready and drummer Jack Irons, along with producer Brendan O’Brien (on organ), will back Neil Young on his European tour.

1999 Gene Simmons of Kiss and a slew of porn stars film a music video in downtown Los Angeles for Everclear‘s cover of Thin Lizzy‘s “The Boys Are Back In Town.” The song is part of the soundtrack to the movie, Detroit Rock City, which follows fans who attend a Kiss concert in 1978.

2000 The third Deftones album, White Pony, debuts at Number Three on the Billboard Top 200, selling 177,000 copies in its first week of release.

2004 Feedback by Rush is released.

2005 Coldplay‘s third album, X&Y, notches its third week at Number One on the Billboard Top 200, selling another 186,000 copies to push its total to nearly 1.25 million.

2006 Ozzfest begins its annual summer run in Seattle, Washington. For the first time in the tour’s history, Ozzy Osbourne appears only on selected dates, while Disturbed and System Of A Down co-headline.
