HELLYEAH DENIES RUMORS THAT NEW DRUMMER HAS BEEN CHOSEN

Hellyeah has quickly shot down rumors that the band has replaced its late drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott with ex-Every Time I Die member Daniel Davison. The speculation began when someone edited the band’s Wikipedia page to add Davison’s name to the lineup. The band responded on Twitter by simply stating, “Absolutely fake news.”

Hellyeah has yet to address the band’s future or a replacement drummer in the wake of Abbott’s sudden death. The former Pantera and Damageplan drummer passed away in his sleep on June 22nd at the age of 54, with a heart attack suspected as the cause of death pending the arrival of the official coroner’s report.

Hellyeah was in the middle of recording its sixth studio LP at the time of Abbott’s death, and it’s been reported that he finished recording his drum tracks before passing away. The album was tentatively slated for a fall release, although it is not yet known whether the band will stick to that schedule.

Davison left Every Time I Die last fall, declaring that the group’s touring schedule “wasn’t sustainable” for him.
