1966 Pantera and Damageplan guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott is born. He is shot to death onstage in December of 2004.

1969 All four Beatles are together in the recording studio for the final time as they finish the Abbey Road album.

1991 Pearl Jam‘s debut album, Ten, is released.

1992 Faith No More‘s Angel Dust is certified gold.

2000 Kiss singer-lead guitarist Ace Frehley is injured when a round from an Uzi machine gun he’s using for target practice backfires, sending shrapnel into his chest. Frehley is taken to a hospital, where the metal is removed, and he doesn’t miss any shows.

2004 Three Day Grace‘s self-titled debut album reaches the platinum mark for sales of one million copies.

2005 The first AmsterJam festival is held on New York City’s Randall’s Island, featuring performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers311GarbageSnoop Dogg, and others.

2005 Iron Maiden is pelted with eggs, interrupted by chants for Ozzy Osbourne, and has its power cut during its final OzzFest performance in Devore, California. Osbourne’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne later takes responsibility for the debacle, saying that Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson disparaged her husband and the tour from the stage.
