1986 Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee weds actress Heather Locklear. The marriage ends in divorce.

1994 Weezer releases its self-titled debut album (a.k.a. “the blue album”).

1995 The Black Crowes donate all proceeds from their Oklahoma City concert to charities helping the victims and survivors of the federal office building bombing.

1999 The History Of Rock ‘N’ Roll, a 10-part series that traces music’s evolution from post-World War II swing, blues, and pop to ’90s hip-hop and industrial, premieres on VH1.

2000 Creed‘s Human Clay is certified quadruple platinum.

2003 Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler is given an honorary Doctor Of Music degree from Boston’s Berklee College Of Music.

2005 Good Charlotte announces that drummer Chris Wilson has left the band due to “personal health problems.”

2005 Weezer releases its fifth album, Make Believe, which was completed in bits and pieces while frontman Rivers Cuomo studied at Harvard.

2006 Tool debuts at Number One on Billboard‘s Top 200 album chart with first-week sales of 564,000 copies for the band’s fourth album, 10,000 Days, while Pearl Jam‘s self-titled eighth effort lands at Number Two with 279,000 copies.
